Exploring Music Mastery
The Music GCSE program at Saint Nicholas School boasts a dedicated group of pupils who are actively enhancing their performing and composing abilities while preparing for the Listening/Appraising examination. Pupils showcase a variety of performances, drawing inspiration from their passion for music theatre.
The school has a rich tradition of both choral and solo singing, with GCSE pupils playing a central role in the choir's outstanding performances at events such as Christmas and Easter Services.
Composing Creativity
The course's composition component offers pupils an exciting opportunity to engage in creative tasks, such as writing film scripts in Year 9, song writing in Year 10, and exploring various styles for their GCSE submissions in Year 11. As part of their studies, pupils delve into the intersection of Music and Film, analysing extracts from popular movies like 'The Lion King', 'Evita', 'Titanic', and 'Lord of the Rings'.
